Service Times and Directions
Ever lost your car keys somewhere in your house? Ever lost your cell phone knowing the battery was dead? Ever lost your kid among the numerous clothing racks at the mall?
If so, you know what God means when he says that his heart beats for things – scratch that – people who are lost, wandering, searching, or scared. He wants the lost to be found…

Momentum Staff
Dan Smith, Lead Minister
Much taller than a hobbit, Dan Smith is a storyteller-preacher, comedy-writer, and the lead minister of Momentum Christian Church. Armed with a witty sense of humor, Smitty shares the teachings of Jesus with people in a refreshing down-to-earth manner and sometimes uses cool words like “plethora.” Dan has a unique perspective on faith because he didn’t grow up in a religious home. He came to his conclusions about God when he was a 15-year-old hellion in Toledo, Ohio. Dan spends much of his spare time taking walks with his lovely wife (and baby mama) – Shannon, his first begotten son – Zion, his baby-girl – Azlan, and the final child in the trilogy – a baby boy named Journey. Contrary to rumor, Dan never fought in the Clone Wars. His favorite light gas is helium.

Matt Caton, Associate Minister
Matt Caton (or Caton, as his butt-slapping high school football buddies deemed him) was born, raised and has lived 98.5% of his life just south of Washington, DC. Matt enjoys flirting with his blue-eyed beauty, Amy, and playing with his little princesses, Naomi and Atira. After a short career in business administration, Matt realized he needed more dead presidents (that’s “money,” for the hip-impaired) and decided to go into full-time Christian ministry. Now he makes a good four digits a year as an associate minister at Momentum.

James Fruits, Arts Minister
Told he was too old to be an American Idol, James Fruits decided to that the only way he was going to make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was to move to Cleveland and pay the admission fee. While working as a wedding singer, James sang his way into the heart of his amazing wife, Christie. His sultry voice and smooth Barry White impersonations led to the birth of their three children. Following in their father’s footsteps, their little girl, Mylee, is a pop star in training, while her twin brother, Malachi backs her up on the guitar and the littlest Fruits, a Guatemalan stud named Max, jams along on pots and pans.
Cleveland’s emphasis on music and the arts was a big draw for James and Christie in moving to C-Town. James strives to incorporate that culture into Momentum’s Sunday morning services through many different mediums, excluding Country Music, if you consider that art.

Stan Munson, Church Planting Apprentice
“My wife Heidi and I, along with our two children, Anna and Jordan, moved to C-town in Aug 2006 and found it quite to our liking. I was a high school math teacher before coming on staff in Sept 2007. Now, I am doing a one-year gig as a full time staff member here at Mo, where I will develop my skills at church planting (starting fresh, new churches) and coordinate community service projects.
Well, that is it — short and sweet. Definitely shorter than everyone else’s. I won’t bore you with small details like my favorite light gas — which by the way is BP Ultimate. Nor will I bore you with how it is a tossup between the “Golden Ratio” (phi) and Fibonacci numbers as being the coolest numbers in the world. Nope, I realize all that stuff would be boring to average person reading this. Yep, I want you just to know the first three sentences and go on with your life. Just know that the Munson family is your typical 100% natural, free-range style, orange-fed new-Clevelanders who prefer the Golden rectangle over all other rectangles, including the square. That is all.”
